Tsongas Arena

Lowell Devils - American Hockey League

Lowell, MA

This ranks as one of our favorite arenas.  A newer arena with only one level, so sightlines are excellent.  Another great feature is that you can view the ice from the concourse.  Concourse is pretty big and easily navigated.  Also, prior to the game, you can wait inside the arena lobby.

Parking:  There are a number of parking lots, including a parking deck, surrounding the arena costing $5.

Camera policy:  Cameras are allowed.  However, don't bring in a Sharpie!  True story, the first time I went to Lowell, security searched my bag and went through my camera bag.  They came across my Sharpies and confiscated them!  I had to plead with them to hold them for me until after the game because I was meeting Pelts for the first time and had a number of items to be signed!

Food:  The food at the Arena is pretty good and reasonable.  There is a nice coffee stand with desserts in addition to typical arena fare.

Arena rating:  **** / Food rating ***

Restaurant Recommendations:  Cobblestones (91 Dutton Street, 5 minute walk from the arena).  Excellent food.  If going prior to the game, it's easier just to sit in the bar area.

Note:  Avoid the Lowell Brewing Company.  There is nothing good about this restaurant.  The service is lousy and the food is even worse.  In addition to that, the prices here are extremely high.  Not to mention that the beer was horrible as well!

Also, there are virtually no restaurants open in Lowell on Sunday afternoons, so plan accordingly.
