Pelts was traded from Carolina to Phoenix in the 2002-03 season in exchange for Patrick DesRochers. Before being assigned to Springfield in the AHL, the Coyotes had an emergency situation as both Brian Boucher and Sean Burke were injured so Jean-Marc saw action with the Coyotes in 2 road games.
The black jersey is no longer in our collection as we felt that the rightful owner should have it. Pelts wore this in one of the games and it shows little wear at first glance, especially since it is a black jersey. Upon inspection there are puck marks on the "desert-theme" bands on the sleeve as well as a skate cut.

In Jean-Marc's second game with Phoenix he wore the very cool-looking alternate green jersey. This jersey is also with its rightful owner.

The other black old style jersey is game-issued while the white old style jersey shows a lone puck mark that had to have occurred during the pre-game skate.

In the 2003-04 season the Coyotes changed their jerseys to a more traditional look. It was in this season that Jean-Marc won his very first NHL game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. In a bit of a mystery, Jean-Marc's game-worn road jersey and game-issued home jersey disappeared from the equipment locker at the Glendale Arena and they have yet to re-appear. As a result, the only new style Coyotes jersey in the collection is a game-issued white jersey (in case anyone is interested, Jean-Marc does have the red jersey that he won his first NHL game in).
