Arena at Harbor Yard

Bridgeport Sound Tigers / American Hockey League

Bridgeport, CT

Nice newer arena with all "general" seating in the lower bowl.  The upper level is all luxury boxes.  Sightlines in the arena are very good.  For those who like to take pictures, you can stand at center ice behind the last row.  If you have a good zoom lens, this is a very good spot to get action shots anywhere on the ice.

One negative about the arena is that it doesn't loop around.  So walking in between periods is limited to the side of the ice that you are seated on.

Parking:  There is a parking deck right next to the arena for $5

Camera policy:  Although it is written in large letters above the doors that cameras aren't allowed, my bag was searched and I was able to bring in the camera.

Food:  Food at the arena a pretty good.  There is a Mexican stand that serves chili and nachos that are very good

Arena rating:  *** / Food rating: ***

Restaurant Recommendations:  Southport Brewing Company (2600 Post Rd, Southport, Ct about 15 minutes from the arena, off I-95).  Typical pub fare with a few twists and reasonable prices.  The service wasn't wonderful.  The beer was the best part of the meal.

Note, it appears that absolutely nothing is open in downtown Bridgeport on Sunday afternoon for lunch.  So, if you are going to a Sunday matinee, either be prepared to eat at the game or find a restaurant somewhere along I-95.
